Flogo Philosophy:
Independent, good quality, affordable. Nice.
It’s become normal. Sales.
Black Friday’s sales, Boxing Day sales, End of Season sales. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
But here at Flogo, we never do sales. Our beautiful £70 Organic linen and cotton Kanaka Worker Shirt has been lovingly sourced, designed and printed. We have bricks and mortar stores for you to visit, because our mission is to connect with people and inspire a Be in the Moment philosophy. So that £70 organic Kanaka is always worth £70 to us.
At Flogo we print and design our own clothes, so we small-batch print. If a particular item isn’t a hit, we don’t make any more. This is less wasteful, and means we don’t have products we need to ‘get rid of’ at the end of each season.
In some larger stores, they put things on sale because they have lots of it left. They won’t sell it the following year/season, so they reduce the price to mitigate their loss.
At Flogo we work hard to manage our stock so we aren’t being wasteful. Some people call it ‘slow fashion’ but being a small independent business, it always feels kinda fast!
Speaking of seasons and fashion: our clothes aren’t that seasonal! Most of our ranges can be worn throughout the year. And the nature of our customers (super cool adventure seekers!) means we sell summer clothes in the winter, and winter clothes in the summer. This Christmas week, for example, in one day we sold two pairs of shorts in our Rye Store. These were to two separate customers, who are both about to zip off to warmer climates for adventure.
So no, we don’t do sales. But we do do local community. We do good value. We do beautiful clothes. We do friendly. We do hike, watersports, martial arts, yoga, and wild swimming.
How do you feel about sales? How do you feel about our philosophy on pricing our clothes? We would love to hear your thoughts.
We know it might be controversial, and we get that money can be tight. But we think we’re right on this.
We love
Here are some things the Flogo team are loving this festive week:
Tom is loving eggs.
Luciano is loving pigs in blankets.
Charlie is loving blustery walks at Rye Harbour. Also…pigs in blankets!
Zack is loving finishing fixing his car with his Dad.
Joanna is loving lie ins! Hurkle-durkle is a 200 year old Scottish term meaning ‘to lie-in or lounge about when one should be up and about’. Joanna has been hurdle-durkling a lot!
Rosalind is loving horse-riding adventures and sea dips. And finally having her boy home.
